Harriet Winston Johnson, 74, of Waynesboro, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Augusta Health, Fishersville. Harriet was born March 29, 1946, in Waynesboro, to the late William Harrison Jones and the late Lucille Johnson Wilson.
She graduated from Central Augusta High School in 1964 and attended Blue Ridge Community College where she received an Associates Degree in Medical Coding.
On March 31, 2003 she retired from DuPont with twenty-four years of service and then was employed with Hershey’s for nine months. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Staunton and she volunteered at AMC. Harriet loved watching Westerns and QVC, shopping and eating out.,
Survivors include her daughters, M. Gwendolyn Johnson and Candace Denise Johnson; her son, Desmond Lee Johnson, Jr.; her other special son, Shawn Sease; her grandchildren, Adrian DeShawn Garland and his wife, Rachael of Homestead, Florida and Destiny L. Johnson Smith and husband RJ of Culpepper; her great grandchildren, Damian Isaiah Garland, Eliana Rose Garland and Patience Annalize Smith; her sister, Shirley Taylor of Philadelphia; other family members, Richard Johnson and wife, Loretta, Marian Bourough, Keimp Pullins, Jr. and his wife, Armeda, Keimp Pullins, Sr., Shirley Gaffney and her husband, Bruce, Bryant Pullins and his wife, Tammi, Michelle Teague, her husband, Warren and their family, and she also leaves behind her special friends, Conway Howard, Carolyn Barber, Bonnie Plair, Ed Billingsley, Verna Clifton and the Woodson family..

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 12 Noon, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville and where a funeral service will be held in the chapel at 12 Noon, conducted by Pastor Nathaniel Perkins. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
Serving as Active Pallbearers will be, Robert Blair, Ja Ray, Wayne Rawlings, Bernard Woodson, Timmy Woodson and Steve Blair.
