Richard “Rick” Homer Boggs, Jr. left this world
unexpectedly on his 68th birthday. He was born on October
17, 1952 to the late Richard “Dick” H. Boggs, Sr. and
Eveline Mae (Stephenson) Boggs. Loving husband to
Patricia (Pat) Smalley Boggs for nearly 48 years, and
proud father of four children and grandfather of eight
grandchildren.
He has left behind his wife, Pat, three children, Kristy
(and Shawn) Stewart, Patrick (and Libby) Boggs and
Casey (and Chris) Jenkins and eight grandchildren,
Victoria Stewart, Christian Boggs, Ezra Stewart, Alexandra
Jenkins, Allison Stewart, Dominic Jenkins, Danny
Stewart, and Elissa Jenkins. And his brother, Randy (and
MaryAnn) Boggs.
Rick was a coal miner throughout the state of WV for
47 years, receiving various certifications within the mining
industry, including electrician and EMT.
Rick was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting,
fishing, ramp digging, “ginseng” and spending time
with his family. He never met a stranger and would do
anything to help others. He will be missed by everyone
who knew him and is deeply loved by so many.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m.
on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, in the Russell Cemetery at
Craigsville with Pastor Shane Boggs officiating. Interment
will follow under the direction of the White Funeral Home
at Summersville.
