Delmar Ernest Taylor, 96, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:50 am October 18, 2020 at Nature Trail Health Care in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
He was born January 12, 1924 in Hamilton County, Illinois to the late Delbert and Maud (Thackery) Taylor. Delmar married Wanda Taylor on July 13, 1947.
In addition to his loving wife of seventy-three years, Delmar is survived by his son, D. L. Taylor of Milton, Florida; daughter, Shirley J and husband, Mike of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and sister, Sue Mae of Poseyville, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, Delmar was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Talbert; brothers, Donald Taylor, Denzil Taylor; daughter-in-law, Jacque Taylor; and grandson, Zachary Thrasher.
Mr. Taylor proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII.
Delmar was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
There will be no services held.
