Born January 8,1966 in Pikeville, she was the daughter of Artis Akers and the late Blanche Mulkey Akers. She was a bookkeeper for F.A.D.A. in Prestonsburg. She was a graduate of Betsy Layne High School and Prestonsburg Community College. She was also a member of the Boldman Freewill Baptist Church and the choir.
In addition to her father she is survived by two sisters, Elaine Fraim of Hager Hill and Terry Johnson of Pikeville; her step-mother, Lana Akers; and her grandparents, Ike and Mary Ellen Spears Mulkey.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 7, at 11 a.m., at the Boldman Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Arnold Belmont Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the Allen Akers Family Cemetery at Dana under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
