Gary Lynn Murphy of Bailey, died at Baylor Hospital in McKinney, TX on Sunday, October 18, 2020. He was born April 12, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to Vernon Lynn Murphy and Evelyn Juanell Clark Murphy.

Gary really enjoyed fishing, especially when his grandsons could join him. He had many tales to tell about his fishing adventures and told them to anyone that would listen. Later in life when his heart and kidneys would force him to slow down, he enjoyed "hanging out" at the local Dairy Queen in Leonard where he would greet everyone who came through the door. Some might say is was the DQ mascot or even the guardian. Gary would also harass the ladies that work at First United Bank in Leonard, just so he could get them to smile.

Gary was loved by many and his passing has left a void in our lives that can only be filled with the memories, joy and love we have for him. He loved his family and was loved in return.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Deborah A. Hill Murphy of Bailey, whom he married in 1980. His daughter with his wife Deborah, Janie Lynn Foster (Jimmy) of Bailey, TX and his daughter with his first wife, Terri Lynn Englert (Scott) of Seagoville, TX and his seven grandchildren; Brittney, Cody, Zachary, Christian, Jacey, Jasmin and Justis.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Juanell "Pat" Day who died in 2010.
