Andrew R. Beeman
(February 12, 1820 ~ March 21, 1886)
***
Old Andy Gone.
Andy Beeman one of the oldest citizens of the Creek was laid to rest this week. He had served both in the Mexican war and in the late strife, and was one of the few veterans who has been spared to tell of the scenes of 1812.
The aged hero has been quite feeble for years and his death was not unexpected. Recently he was allowed a pension and with the money thus received, he was enabled to build him a comfortable home, but as is the case in many similar instances, the relief came too late, and the old comrade was permitted to enjoy his comfort but a brief time.
The deceased was a comrade of Frank P. Blair Post, G.A.R., of this place, and under the auspices of this order the funeral services was held. The body being consigned to the tomb with military honors. Peace to the ashes of the old veteran say all who knew him.

His place of death from an entry in the Kansas, Enrollment of Civil War Veterans, 1889, for M. M. Beeman (his widow--Mary M. Beeman). That entry also confirmed the date of death you have for him on his memorial.
