Nevils – Charles Lester Purvis, 61, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Memorial Health in Savannah after a short illness. A native of Indianapolis, IN, he lived in Bulloch County most of his life. He was self-employed as a painter and roofer for many years and enjoyed time spent outdoors, especially fishing. He attended Calvary Baptist Temple in Savannah and was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Purvis and brother, Donnie Purvis.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Cody Griggs of LaGrange, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Kerry Purvis of Odum; sisters and brother-in-law, Pam Thurston of Lakeland, FL, Patty NeSmith and Penny NeSmith of Eagle Lake, FL, and Glenda and Scott Stripling of Glennville; brother and sister-in-law, James and Sissy Purvis of Lakeland, FL; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 19 at 2 PM in the chapel of Howard Funeral Home.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel.
