Michael Rothrock was the third of ten known children of Abraham Rothrock (1796-1870) and Mary Beshoar Rothrock (1810-1893), who married c1827 in presumably Pennsylvania. The family moved to Douglas County, Kansas in 1858, where Joseph was a Minister in the Brethren Church and the First Elder in the Church in the State of Kansas. Joseph was wounded during one of the Quantrill raids in Kansas. He recovered somewhat and was said to have died because of his injuries.
Michael married Mary Eve Weybright (1840-1908) on 14 Mar 1861 at Douglas County, Kansas. In 1878 the family moved to Salem, Oregon and then to Klickitat, Washington the following year. In 1896 the parents moved to Lordsburg (now called Laverne), Los Angeles County, California. Some records show Michael died 11 Jan 1911 and was buried at Upland Heights, San Bernardino County, California. Were his remains moved to Laverne Cemetery at some point?
