Virgil S. Gann, 89, St. Joseph died Friday, December 21, 1960, at a local health care center.
Born in Utica, Missiouri, Mr. Gann lived in St. Joseph for most of his life, He retired from St. Joseph Light and Power in 1955, after working for 22 years as a mechanic.
In 1925, he married the former Elva Weiler in St. Joseph. She survives of the home. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Crystal Simmons, in October.
Additional Survivors; two sons, Dale and Robert of St. Joseph; seven daughters, Betty Hovey of Alameda, California, Lois Burnett of Faucett, Missouri, and Dorthy Burnett, Glenrose Steward, Elizabeth McVicker, Sara Peck and Judith Goben, all of St. Joseph; 29 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
