Mary Ellen Baldwin Hamlett
Mary Ellen Baldwin Hamlett, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, 12:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Mary was born Jan. 23, 1927, to the late Cleve and Laura Baldwin.
On March 11th, 1944, she wed the love of her life, Allen H. Hamlett Sr. who went home to Glory Aug. 14th, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ralph M. Hamlett; three brothers, Willis, Wiley and Howard Baldwin; two sisters, Ann B. Lee and Grace B. Buchnam.
Mary was a member of Beale Memorial Presbyterian Church and the loving mother of 10 children. She leaves to cherish her memory her surviving children and their spouses, Lawrence and Gail Hamlett, Kenneth and Katie
Hamlett, of Pamplin, Allen Jr. and Rhenda Hamlett, of Appomattox, Steve and Rebecca Hamlett, of Spout Spring, Charlotte and Gene Hamlett, of Appomattox, Brenda and Buck Wooten, of Spout Spring, Denise and Phil Rogers, of Concord, Delores and Bobby DeMuth, of Pamplin, and Donna and Rodney Lawson, of Concord.
She is also survived by her daughter -in -law, Patty Hamlett Miller and her husband, Jeff; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters and their husbands, Eva and Dan Tolbert, of Silver Springs Md., Janie and Billy Chapman, of Farmville; three brothers and their wives, Ernest and Billie Jean Baldwin, David and Eileen Baldwin, Wade and Hallie Baldwin, all of Pamplin, many nieces and nephews and a devoted caregiver, Teresa Childers of Farmville.
The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at Beale Memorial Presbyterian Church in Pamplin, with the Rev. Bryan Garra, pastor of the church, officiating and burial following in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral
Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, and at other times at the home.
