Mr. Ronnie McAdams, 67, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at his residence in Teague. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church. with Bro. Steve Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in Dew Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites.
Mr. McAdams was born in Dew, Texas, to the late Johnnie Jasper and Lanie Mildred McAdams, and attended the Dew School. He was a pipeliner all his working life and traveled to several countries and all over the United States with his work. He worked for several different companies during his career. He married Joy Montgomery on Sept. 14, 1963 and they shared forty-four years together. Mr. McAdams enjoyed farming and ranching, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his grandkids. He especially enjoyed watching Laney dance and play basketball and to watch Ty with his shooting sports. He was very fond of his two red heeler dogs, Laney and Gracie. Mr. McAdams was a member of Boggy Masonic Lodge #739 in Teague.
He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Junior "Bugs" Norton; nephew, Lloyd Downey; mother-in-law, Mary Price; and aunt, Sue Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Joy McAdams; son, Tony McAdams and wife, Angie, of Teague; grandchildren, Ty and Laney McAdams, of Teague; sisters, Esther Jo Downey, of Dew, Clara Beth Norton, of Mexia and Mary Carol Christall and husband, Bobby, of Dew; brother, Emory "Bub" McAdams and wife, Ruth, of Teague; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
