Nancy Lee Matthews was born October 14, 1950 in Fulton, New York to parents James and Elizabeth (Castiglia) Tetro.

As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, godmother, niece, teacher, mentor, influencer, friend; Nancy welcomed the opportunity to take on these roles with grace, compassion, and love. Her bright smile and kind heart stood out in the world. One encounter with Nancy left an impression on your heart and soul. She had an ability to connect with all walks of life and made each person she spoke with feel important and special.

Nancy grew up in Fulton, New York. She knew in 2nd grade she wanted to be a teacher. She fulfilled her dream by being an Elementary School Teacher for 40 years, 34 of them in PISD. Nancy was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and extended her love for teaching by serving as coordinator for the RCIA program and as a CCD teacher for many years. Along the way, life was lucky enough to introduce her to Rick; her loving husband, best friend and each other’s rocks. They married on October 12, 1974 and grew their family to three with the birth of their son, Ryan. Nancy adored her husband and son with unwavering affection. In her later years, Nancy loved to travel, cook and share her cheerful spirit with family and friends. She was an angel on Earth and is now an angel in Heaven.

Nancy is survived by her husband Rick, her son Ryan and his wife Michelle, whom Nancy loved very much. She is also survived by her mother Betty Tetro and brother Joe Tetro and his wife Llorraine along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends for a visitation Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 10:30 A.M. at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with The Reverend Bruce Bradley officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the mass in the Parrish Hall. Nancy will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy would be honored to have donations made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/give/memorials-and-dedications.html
