MOUNT PLEASANT - Joe Howard Johnson, 89, of 2163 Walker Road, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Concord. The Rev. Randy Wall will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. At other times the family will be at the home his daughter, Carol Clark, of 660 Burrage Road, Concord. Born July 5, 1917, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Charlie H. Johnson and Mary Della (Measmer) Johnson. He was a picker operator at Cannon Mills, Concord. He was a member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church. Survivors include wife, Mildred (Eury) Johnson of the home; daughter, Carol Jean Clark and husband, Roger, of Concord; sister, Addie Sue Earp of Concord; granddaughter, Brook Clark of the U.S. Navy; and grandson, Sean Clark of the U.S. Marines. Memorials may be made out to Cold Springs United Methodist Church, 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord, NC 28025. Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord is in charge of arrangements.
