Simon Koiner, one of the oldest citizens of the county, and the oldest member of the Koiner family in this county, departed this life at his home about three miles west of Waynesboro on the 15th inst., in the 92 year of his age. He was well and widely known throughout the county and had until recently been active and youthful in appearance for one of his years. He some time ago received a fall in trying to get into his buggy to go to church, and the hurt he then received, told on him. He partially recovered, but was never as stout as before.
He left several sons, Elijah being one of the Supervisors of the county at this time, and the others, John Nick and S.C., who are respected and prosperous citizens. One daughter, Mrs. Marion Koiner, also survives him. His funeral took place at Zion church on the 17th.
