Mrs. Anna Bates, age 92, of Freeport, Florida passed away August 3, 2007 in Niceville, Florida. She was born December 20, 1914 in Laynesville, Kentucky to Franklin and Celia Dotson Lane.
Mrs. Bates had been a resident of Walton County for 50 years moving from Laynesville, Kentucky. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Freeport

Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband Astor Buel Bates, two sons John Bates and Buel Bates Jr., one grandson Bruce Allen Bates, and two granddaughters Felicia and Vickie Bates.

Mrs. Bates is survived by her three sons Bobby Bates and wife Pat of DeFuniak Springs, Bruce Bates and wife Dottie and James Bates all of Freeport, 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held 6:00~8:00 PM, Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20 Freeport, Florida 32439.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Monday, August 6, 2007 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, with Reverend David Isaac officiating.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. Burial will follow in Hatcher Cemetery.

Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
