Mrs. Wilma Cuchens, age 79, of DeFuniak Springs passed away August 23 , 2007 at her residence. She was born September 1, 1927 in Walton County, Florida to Ira Henderson and Edna Esther Gainey.
Mrs. Cuchens had lived most of her life in Walton County.

Mrs. Cuchens was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband W.A. Cuchens Jr., brother Lynn Henderson, brother-in-law Roy Cuchens and Willie Dee Cuchens, sister.

Mrs. Cuchens is survived by her two sons Marvin A. Cuchens and wife Katie of Madison, Mississippi and James W. Cuchens and wife Joyce of Birmingham, Alabama; four sisters Jeanette Gandy and husband Wallace of Chipley, Florida, Maveen Bruner of Caryville, Florida, Anneice Baker and husband Alva of Choctaw Beach, Florida and Carolyn Austin of Smyra, Georgia; four grandchildren Will and Bryan Cuchens of Madison, Mississippi and Chris and Beth Cuchens of Birmingham, Alabama; sisters-in-law Nell H. Culp and husband John of Cantonment, Florida, Jewel K. Hughes and husband Robert of Valparaiso, Florida, Olive Watson of Freeport, Florida, Wanda C. Stevens and husband Pete of Pensacola, Florida, Marie C. Hansley and husband Mitchell of Leland, North Carolina and Wynell C. Welch and husband Greg of Cantonment, Florida; brothers-in-law Hubert E. Cuchens of Freeport, Florida and Howard K. Cuchens and wife Violet of Freeport, Florida, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held at 6:00~8:00 PM, Friday, August 24, 2007 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Southwide Baptist Church, with Reverends Doug Hogg and Dr. Mark Rathel officiating.

Floral arrangements are being accepted.

Those asked to serve as pallbearers are as follows Randy Cuchens, Kenny Cuchens, Randolph Knepper, Shawn Cosson, A.G. Owens and Jimmy Brannon. Burial will follow in the Hatcher Cemetery.

Clary-Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
