Margaret Bearden Douglas of Hickox, Georgia

December 26, 1949 - October 18, 2020

Nahunta-Mrs. Margaret Bearden Douglas,70, of the Hickox Community passed away early Sunday morning (Oct.18,2020) at her residence in Hickox after a short illness.

Born in Prattville, Alabama she was the daughter of Wilfred and Burnice Cooper Bearden. Ms. Margaret was also preceded along with her parents her loving Husband, Virgil Douglas her son Lonnie Douglas, granddaughter, Michelle King, 2-Brothers, Leon and Gene Bearden and a sister, Linda Waldrep.

A woman of a deep Christian faith, and a homemaker with strength and love. She did not have many hobbies, but she loved to joke and scare you. Her great sense of humor was her own and she laughed when she could aggravate you. To know her was to love her. And she was a cook like no other. Her biscuits were as soft as her heart.

She is survived by her 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Tanya and Colin Causey, of Hickox, Laura Cooper, of Alabama, 6-grandchildren and their spouses, Josh King, of Alabama, Lonnie Douglas (Paige), of Lyons, Shawn Douglas (Becca), of Raybon, Leah Carroll (Garrett) of Hickox, Margaret Middleton (Eddie) of Raybon and Shane Douglas (Kaycee) of Waycross, several great grandchildren, 2-brothers, Joe Bearden and Walter Bearden, both of FL., a sister, Pat Gearhard, of AL. Her daughter-in-law, Tammy Douglas, of Nahunta. A life long best friend, Sarah Cason, of FL.

Also, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A graveside service for Mrs. Douglas will be held at 11 A.M (Oct. 20,2020) from The New Hope Cemetery with Pastor Ashton Ham officiating. A visitation will be at the grave 30 minutes prior, starting at 10:30 A.M.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services, the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
