Martha Jo Gaunce Hines, 70, wife of 43 years to Glenn L. Hines, passed away October 15, 2020 at Baptist Heath Lexington. Born March 31, 1950 in Frankfort, KY, Martha was the daughter of the late William Edward “Bill” Gaunce and Clara Bell Friedly Gaunce.
Along with her parents, Martha was preceded in death by a step daughter, Debbie Berryman, and her siblings, Thelma Beeler, Betty Ann Gaunce, Gene Gaunce, Larry Gaunce, and Earl Thomas Gaunce.
A 1968 graduate of Anderson County High School, Martha was a former bus monitor for the Franklin County Board of Education. She loved her family and her dog Janaki, and enjoyed fishing and going to the beach.
Including her husband, Martha is survived by two step children, Mike Hines of Lexington and Mindy (husband Robert) Bonin of Virginia; step grandchildren, Robert Hines and Ashby Bonin; sisters, Nancy (Larry) Coleman and Connie Adams, both of Lawrenceburg; brothers, Jimmy (Ann) Gaunce of Versailles and Billy (Kay) Gaunce of Somerset.
Service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20th beginning at 1:00 PM at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Larry Coleman will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 -8 PM Monday and 11 – 1 Tuesday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Hines, Brad Gaunce, Michael Ray, Mike Beeler, Shawn Ray, and Steven Gaunce.
