Doris Register Butler passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Elmcroft Senior Living in Southport, NC. She was 83 years old.

Born August 8, 1937, in Robeson County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Clarence Register and Callie Irene Carter Register.

Doris worked at Keith Reality in St. Pauls for many years before becoming a caregiver for her husband, Vaughn. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She adored her grandchildren. She loved working in her yard and cooking meals. She always made her children and grandchildren’s favorite dishes when they came to visit.

She was an avid member of Tolarsville Baptist Church where she was very active before her sickness. She loved working in Vacation Bible School and gathering with the ladies of the church for various functions. She was a member of the choir and loved to sing solos or duets. Doris never met a stranger and will be missed by many.

Doris is survived by her daughters; Jo Ann Tyner and husband, Carl, of Bolivia, NC, and Tammy Lober and husband, Jere, of California; grandchildren; Brooks Tyner and wife, Rebecca, Zach Tyner, Carla Tyner and husband, Nate, Brandon Lober and wife, Natalie, Josh Lober and wife, Amanda, and Kara Lober; 3 great grandchildren; Kaylee Lober, Nicole Lober and Selene Lober; sisters; Madelyn House and Melba Walters; and brother, Wayne Register.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Irene Register; husband, Vaughn Butler, brothers; Horace Register, Mitchel Register, and niece, Dianne Register

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Tolarsville Baptist Church in St. Pauls, NC, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. William Gentry. Mask are requested. Services at the graveside are private, family only.
