Linda Sue McCormick was born on August 27, 1950 in Livingston, Tennessee to Ward and Metta (York) McCormick. She moved to Indiana in 1969 where she met Jon Stanley. Jon and Linda were married on July 23, 1971 and built a beautiful life together which included their children, Bruce, Scheri, and Jonna along with their 8 grandchildren.
Linda was a talented seamstress and she honed her skills while working at the Glove Corporation in Alexandria, IN for approximately 20 years.
Linda is survived by her sister Dean McCormick of Livington, TN, son Bruce (Meylissa) Stanley of Summitville, daughter Scheri Blanton of Summitville, daughter Jonna (James) Young of Summitville, granddaughters, Elizabeth (Rob Dye) Blanton of Anderson, Kelsey (Ray) Gibson of Fairmount, Tori (Matt) Tisdale of Marion, Emileigh (Tyler) McClellan of Jonesboro, Hanna Young of Summitville, Maloree Stanley of Summitville, grandsons, Jon (Caitlynne Perkins) Young of Summitville, Kyle (Jasmine Tate) Young of Summitville, special niece Stacy (Brady) Turner of Fairmount, 5 great grandchildren, Oakleigh McClellan, Kohen Gibson , Isaac Young, Delaney Turner, Knox Dye, and Brinly Gibson, her precious dog, Tilly and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Metta McCormick, husband Jon Stanley, sister Wanda McCormick, brother Wilburn McCormick, son-in-law Richard Blanton, special nieces, Jennifer and Cara Pyle, great granddaughter, Krozleigh McClellan, and a number of other beloved family members.
Linda was dearly loved by her family for her wit, sense of humor, and ornery personality. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside celebration of Linda's life and legacy on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 2 pm in Vinson Memorial Cemetery where we will lay her cremains to rest by her beloved husband Jon.
