Derek Adams, 28, of Cape Girardeau went to the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, April 26, 2020.
He was born Nov. 28, 1991, in Cape Girardeau to Dewey and Regina Espindola Adams.
Derek was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School in 2010, where he earned his three-year letter on the basketball team. He attended Southeast Missouri State University.
He was a service adviser at Cape Girardeau Honda.
He enjoyed sports and spending time with friends and family.
He was a member of LaCroix United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Regina (Adam) Wilson of Cape Girardeau; father, Dewey (Russann) Adams of Wolcott, Connecticut; paternal-grandmother, Patricia Bell of Patton, Missouri; sisters, Shelby Adams of Wolcott and Erica (Joshua) Carmack of Benton, Missouri; brothers, Brett Adams of Wolcott and Sean (Jessica) Wilson of Benton; two nieces; a nephew; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Due to current gathering restrictions, a private graveside service will be held Friday at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Ron Watts officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, 2536 Boutin Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
