David was a member of Pipefitters Local 502. He was also a faithful member of Clear Fork Wesleyan Church. He had traveled to Jamaica and Haiti for missionary work. He enjoyed gardening and singing and loved canning with his best friend James "Boobie" Stinson. David never met a stranger and loved to talk on the phone. He was known to be the driver on any of the family trips and will be missed when someone needs a voice to keep them awake while driving. Above all else, David dearly loved his family, especially his grandkids.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Harrell; brother, Larry Barger, Sr.; and sister, Susie Nall.
David is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Nancy Barger; son, Jeremy Barger; son, Johnathon Barger; daughter, Mindie Barger; grandchildren, Jasmine Barger, Donovan Barger, Joseph Emily III, Haiden Emily, Shelby Barger, Victoria McMillin, and Damion Emily; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Dan) Summers; sister, Linda (Dennis) Schott; sister, Mary Carlisle; brother, Homer "Mel" (Tammy) Barger, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Gary Harrell.
