Francis Albert Provost was born July 27,1922, in Trout Creek, Michigan, to Oscar and Olga (Anderson) Provost. He spent most of his years growing up in Crosby, Minnesota. Graduating from Crosby High School, he joined the National Guard. He was called into active service moving to California, Texas, and then to Indiana. At Camp Atterbury in Indiana, he met a young Army Nurse, Freda Stewart. They were married on Aug 15, 1943, and had been married seventy-five years when she passed in 2019. After their marriage, both were sent to Europe during WWll, each to a different country. After their service during the war, they located in Indiana with Francis taking a position at Eli Lilly and Company, where he worked for thirty-six years. During the years he was living in Indiana, he was commissioned in the Indiana National Guard. Through schooling and hard work, he advanced his rank to Lt. Colonel. Through his years of service, he was a member of the Lions Club, Veterans of Foreign War, and the American Legion.
Francis was proceeded in death by his wife, Freda, his parents, Oscar and Olga Provost, brothers; James and Donald, sisters; Lois Fort and Kathryn Johnson and daughter, Lorinda Provost Adair.
Cremation with burial at a later date in Lakewood Cemetery, Crosby, Minnesota.
