Mrs. Roby was born December 21, 1935 in Petersburg, WV and was a daughter of the late Evers Bergdoll and Esta (Weese) Bergdoll.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roby was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harold Roby in 2011; two brothers, Paul E. Bergdoll and Harold G. Bergdoll; one sister, Aldene Bergdoll Brake.
Mrs. Roby is survived by two sisters, Wanda Bergdoll Curl of Warrenton, VA and Barbara (Alonzo) Ours of Warrenton, VA; Pat Bosley, a lifelong friend of Petersburg; four nephews, Lenwood Brake of Petersburg, Angus Brake of Petersburg, Hilton (Marcia) Brake of Florida, and John (Natalie)Ours of Warrenton, VA and five great nieces and nephews and three great-great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Roby graduated from Petersburg High School in 1953. She was a member of Grove Street United Methodist Church. She was an outstanding homemaker who enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. She liked traveling, going to the beach, reading and watching TBN.
In honoring Mrs. Roby’s wishes, her body has been cremated. A private graveside service will be held in the Lahmansville Cemetery.
