Cheryl J. Thompson, age 68, of Gilson, Illinois died at 10:39 P.M. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at her home.

Cheryl was born on November 3, 1953, in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Kenneth O. and Maurine G. (Drake) Thompson. She attended and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1971.

Surviving is a sister, Lola Faye (Eli) Luster of Burnett, Wisconsin; two nieces Ellen Plott of Salem, Alabama and Karla (Dean) Schultz of Saxon, Wisconsin; one great niece: Harlie Plott, one great nephew, Cody Walters and one great-great nephew Cameron Walters; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She loved animals and talking to people. She was a “World of Knowledge” and enjoy local history.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Haynes Cemetery in rural Delong, Illinois with a visitation at the cemetery from 3:00 to 3:30 P.M. Rev.
