Raymond L. Adcock, 80, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020, with his family by his side.

Family will meet with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2020, at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa, with military honors by the United States Air Force.

Raymond was born January 8, 1940 at Richmond, Kansas, the son of William H. and Etta Wynona (Green) Adcock.

He was a near lifelong Franklin County resident.

He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1958.

Raymond served in the United States Air Force from September 2, 1958 until January 23, 1962, with the 4157th Combat Support GP, attaining the rank of E-3. He received the Good Conduct Medal.

Raymond was united in marriage with Roberta J. Hubbard August 19, 1962 at Rantoul, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his father, W.H. Adcock, mother, Wynona Stewart, brothers, Tommy Adcock, and James “Jim” Adcock; grandson, Stetson Cole and granddaughter, Cassie Madden.

Survivors include son, Robby Adcock and wife Kendra of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Vicky Homer and husband Danny of Pomona; siblings, William H. Adcock, Anna Schwartz and husband Alan, Roger “Doc” Adcock and wife Treva, Lyle Adcock and wife Marilyn, Jane Harper and Esther Hopkins; grandsons, Storm Mattas and Oaklee Homer, great grandson, Ryker Cole Mattas; and sisters-in-law, Karen Adcock and Sunny Hall-Adcock. Raymond enjoyed his retirement with the company of close friend Elsie Kratzberg.

Raymond worked over nineteen years at Sunflower Ammunition Plant and later over twenty years at the Walmart Distribution Center in Ottawa, until retiring in 2016.

He enjoyed fishing along with building and driving demolition derby cars.
