Donnie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church. He was an active member at Barnes serving as a Sunday School teacher and singing in the male chorus and sanctuary choirs. He also was a member of the Methodist Men’s Group.
Donnie was employed at Dupont Warehouse for over 27 years and also worked at Northwest School as a bus attendant for several years. Donnie enjoyed singing and spending time with family.
Donnie Young departed this earthly life on October 9, 2020 at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 9 days.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Hazel Young; son, David Neal Young; sisters, Doris (Dan) Shaw, Vernita Jones, Blanche Young, Voncell (Steven) Neal, Joncell (Dennis) Ingram, Brenda (Ron) Appleton; brother-in-law, Kenneth McNeil; sisters-in-laws, Maxine Young, Nett Young, Dianne Young and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law.
