MICHAEL RYAN POPE peacefully passed away at home on October 9, 2020 after a long illness. A lifelong resident, he was born in Indianapolis on June 11, 1949 to Russell Ryan Pope and Dorothy Jean Dorsey.

The eldest of two children MIKE and his sister Starla both attended St. Bridget Catholic School. MIKE earned a scholarship and was graduated from Brebeuf Jesuit High School. He received a S.S. in Mathematics and Physics from Xavier University and an M.S. in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Purdue University.

MIKE was a devout member of the Catholic Church. He served in many capacities, including as a member and president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and as a Pastoral Leadership Coach for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

MIKE and his wife Connie were together for 21 years. They often visited the retired nuns at Providence Monastery and also took many road trips throughout the state and beyond. MICHAEL loved Indiana and enjoyed acting as an Indiana tour guide driving people along back roads to show them the beauty of the state. No highways for him if he could help it.

MIKE had over fifteen years of project management experience and worked for the Indianapolis Public Schools as an Information Projects Coordinator, an IT Director and an Information Systems Officer.

MIKE is survived by his wife, Connie; daughter, Michelle; stepchildren, Dennis (Jennifer), Lori; and grandchildren; sister, Starla Gales; brother-in-law, Earl Gales, Jr.; nephews, Earl Gales Ill and Ryan Gales; nieces, Starla C. Gales and Kaiya Gales; cousin, Stephanie Anderson. He was predeceased by his parents and stepchildren Mimi and Allen.

MIKE was kind, considerate, gentle and loving and will be greatly missed.
