David W. Leach, 72, of Graniteville, passed away suddenly on October 12, 2020. He was the beloved son of the late David and Kathryn; beloved brother of Kathleen Leach, and Karen Carpenter and her husband Charles.

David was born in 1947 in Brooklyn, raised in Manhattan, then later relocated to Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and finally settled in Staten Island. He was graduated from Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years, serving as a Sergeant in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. When he returned home he began a long career in the import/export business, primarily as a coordinator/supervisor. David was very much appreciative of the fine arts. He was a movie buff and enjoyed watching and collecting them. He also loved attending the Met Opera in New York City and was an avid Yankees fan. David had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by his siblings.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, 10/16, from 9:00 to 11:00 am. A brief funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, Long Island, NY.
