Marjorie Maxine Martin was born January 13, 1930 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Lucille (Hotle) Fulton. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1948. Maxine was united in marriage to Joseph Koehler Martin on June 4, 1949 in Crawfordsville, Iowa.
Maxine worked for a short time at the telephone office in Washington and assisted her husband in the family farm operation. They farmed North of Washington for 15 years and then moved to a farm North of Crawfordsville. Maxine was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and was very active in Church Circles. She was also a member of Wednesday Study Club in Crawfordsville, P.E.O. and the Washington Community YMCA where she participated in Aquasize classes. Maxine volunteered for Hospice of Washington County and at the Washington County Hospital Gift Shop. She loved to play bridge, cards and board games and enjoyed boating and water activities. Maxine was a world traveler which included trips to Greece, the British Isles, Taiwan, Thailand and the Caribbean.
She is survived by daughter, Lynn Loula and husband Richard of Washington, IA; son, Tim Martin and partner Dawnya Clarine of Sand Point, ID; daughter, Lisa Martin and partner Brule Hampton of Davenport, IA; 5 grandchildren: Casey Martin, Zack, Brendan and Regan Loula and Lia Bellomy; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, George Fulton and wife Meda of Washington, IA; sister-in-law, Ruth Wittmer of Springfield, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joe.
