Mrs. Wilkerson Dies At Wright City
Mrs. Florence Wilkerson, 68, Wright City, died at 5:30 p. m. Sunday at the home of a son, Earl Wilkerson, Wright City.
Born May 5, 1881, at Bethel, she had resided at Wright City for the past 23 years, moving from Arkansas. She was a member of the Assembly of God church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Wright City Assembly of God church with Rev. Lonnie Choate, Antlers, officiating.
Arrangements and burial in Wright City cemetery were under direction of Coffey funeral home.
She is survived by three sons, Earl, Houston and Otis Wilkerson, all of Wright City; one daughter, Mrs. Albert Heffington, Jackson, Calif.; two brothers, W. H. Thacker, Amity, Ark., and F. G. Thacker, Mountain Pine, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. W. T. White, Paris; Mrs. George Sheets, Hot Springs, Ark.; and Mrs. T. W. Carter, Bloomburg, Tex.; four half brothers, Herbert Thacker, Texarkana, and Floyd, J. B. and Hershel Thacker, all of Mountain Pine; five half sisters, Mrs. Bertha Mitchell, Leola, Ark.; Mrs. Tom Pressley and Mrs. Leroy Gilbert, both of Denison, Tex.; Mrs. Opal Clark, Spreckles, Calif., and Mrs. Irene Bowman, Salem, Ore., and eight grandchildren.

The obit does say she was born in Bethel, however, that is not what the immediate family has always stated. The sons always said she was born near Point Cedar, Ark. where most of her siblings were also born.
She is listed in every census as being born in Arkansas, so I am leaving it as it is unless I get some proof, besides the obit, as that was just info given from someone at the time of her death.
