"Ethel Julia Sagebiel Willmann, 99, passed from this life on September 21, 2020 to reside in heaven until Christ returns.

Ethel was born on January 7, 1921 at Eckert, Texas to the late Alfred Gottlieb Sagebiel and Selma Dittmar Sagebiel. She attended the Nebo School at Eckert, graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1939 as Salutatorian and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Parkland Hospital Nursing School, Dallas, Texas in 1942.

She married Willie Ray Willmann of Mason, Texas in Zion Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg, Texas on January 5, 1949. She is proceeded in death by her husband Willie Ray Willmann, her parents, and siblings.

Ethel was a veteran of World War II when she volunteered and served as a 2nd Lieutenant Registered Nurse in the Army Nurse Corps, 86th Station Hospital, in Australia. After returning home, she worked for four years for the Fredericksburg Hospital and Clinic as the Head Nurse for Dr. Feller and Dr. Keyser. After marriage and the move to Mason County, Ethel was a housewife, mother, nurse, and active partner with Willie Ray in their family farm and ranch. She was well known for her quiet hard-work ethic, gardening and hot meals served out of the back of the pickup truck during peanut planting and harvesting and when working cattle.

Ethel became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mason, Texas when she transferred her membership in 1949 from Zion Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg, Texas. She served her Lord in the women’s group known as Ladies Aid, the church thrift store, and women’s bible studies, and was on the church council."
