A native of Rock Hill, Miss Hinson was a daughter of the late Phillip H. Hinson Sr. and the late Pearl Jordan Hinson.
She retired from Winthrop University, where she worked for over 27 years and was the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Business Administration.
A lifelong member of West Main Church of the Nazarene, now known as Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Vermelle had 63 years of perfect attendance in Sunday School and served for 63 years as missionary president.
She also served on the South Carolina District Church of the Nazarene Missionary Council for 60 years.
