Jocelyn Den'e Matthews, 36, Anderson, passed away September 19, 2007 at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, from injuries received in a fire at her home.

She was born February 25, 1971 in Anderson and lived in Anderson all of her life. She graduated from Madison Heights High School and received her Associates Degree in Business Administration. She had worked at Guide Corp. and was currently attending Concordia University.

She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 663 and was elected to serve on the Auto Council. She enjoyed baseball and golf and played on Women's Golf Team at Madison Heights. She loved her cats and had a heart of gold.

She is survived by her father, Tom Matthews of Anderson; mother, Michelle Matthews of Anderson; maternal grandparents, Peggy and Ivan Fisher of Anderson; paternal grandmother, Opal Matthews of Anderson; uncles, Larry (wife, Tudy) Matthews of Anderson, Jerry Matthews of Indianapolis, Mike (wife, Kathy) Prentice and Steve Prentice (companion, Stu Lamar); cousins, Ashley and Allison Matthews; great aunt, Ruthann (husband, Don) Lawyar; great uncle, Dave (wife, Jane) Gardner; and numerous cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Zachary Matthews; and grandfathers, Jack Matthews and Toke Prentice.
