Ella, of Beaumont, owned and operated the Silver Barrel in the 50's and was employed by Shepherd's Laundry.

Preceding Ella in death was her husband, John Achten; son, John D. Achten; and grandson, Bobby Watkins.

Her survivors include her brother, George Smith Wells; children, Evelyn Menard and her husband Nelson, Frances Yates and Barbara Rowley ; grandchildren, John Fontenot and his wife Donna; Madelyn Cleveland, Darrel Daigle and his wife Ava, Lorraine Davenport and her husband Mike, Brian Hamm and his wife Shawna and Charlie Watkins and his wife Darcie; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and many nephews and nieces.
