Ellen M. Welch, 77, of Rochester, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at her home. Born in Centreville, Maryland on August 14, 1933, Ellen moved to the Rochester area in 1969.

She worked at Clark Pharmacy in New London and the Grafton Prison as a Pharmacy Tech. Ellen also was a real estate agent. She enjoyed bowling, reading, needle point and counted cross stitch. Her other hobbies included camping and watching baseball.

Ellen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles; children; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Other survivors include Ellen's siblings. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Ellen Brown; father, John E. Mears and stepmother, Barbara Mears.

A memorial service will be held at the Rochester United Methodist Church, 201 South State Street on Friday, August 20 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tina Siroki officiating. Donations in memory of Ellen can be made to the Rochester United Methodist Church.
