Born to John Herbert McLean and Wootie Pridgen McLean on August 19, 1927 in Pridgen, Georgia. Ms. Christine grew up in Pridgen and graduated from High School in Coffee County. She married Roscoe Young in 1949 and they had four daughters: Betty Ann, Diane, Karen and Renae. Ms. Christine enjoyed cooking and her delicious coconut cakes and homemade biscuits were enjoyed by all. She was a longtime member of New Bethel Holiness Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Young; a brother, Herbert “Buddy” McLean, and sisters: Winnie Sapp, Evelyn Pridgen and Alta Dyer. She is survived by her daughters: Betty Ann (Mike) Heatherly, Diane (Steve) Sumner, Karen (Tim) Lott and Renae (Phillip) Tyson; a brother, Charles McLean; 12 grandchildren: Brad, Lorie, Christy, Nicki, Megan, Ryan, Mason, Laken, Christen, Cara, Cain and Zack; 12 great-grandchildren: Cole, Carmen, Lilli, Parker, Addison, Blake, Jackson, Ashlyn, Bowers, Atley, Bowen and Graham. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services were held 2 PM, Sunday, October 11, 2020 at New Bethel Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Edsel Young and the Rev. Adam Young officiating.
