Linda Sue Walton was born on January 21,1948, at home in Neligh, Nebraska, to Barton and Maude (Keller) Walton. She grew up and attended school in O’Neill and graduated in 1966.

She was united in marriage to Leroy Napier and to this union, 3 children were born.

On July 31, 1984 she married Dick Appleby in Las Vegas, NV and to this marriage, Linda gained a daughter and son.

Linda worked at Two Rivers Steakhouse and was the head checker at Torpin’s Rodeo Market for 42 years. Linda could be found working evenings at the Legion Club and in more recent years cleaning several homes in O’Neill.

Linda enjoyed hosting various parties including Tupperware, home interior, and Pampered Chef to name a few. She was very competitive when it came to cards, dominoes, bag toss, or any other game.

When it came to fundraisers, family dinners, holiday events etc., Linda was the go-to person to organize, host, cook, decorate, or pitch-in wherever needed. Activities she enjoyed were Relay for Life, camping, cooking, crafts, games, and dancing. Linda loved shopping and she could ‘shop till she dropped’. But most of all, she enjoyed her family and friends and especially enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren. Her door was always open for anyone to stop for coffee or a meal and welcomed everyone with open arms and a smile.

She was a member of and baptized in the First Christian Church.
