James E. “Jim” McKelvey, age 83, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Saturday, October 10, 2020 in a local nursing home.
Mr. McKelvey was born February 1, 1937 in Bluff City, Arkansas. He was retired from Wadley Regional Medical Center after twenty years of service in the Maintenance Department. He attended Faith Assembly of God Church. Jim was a gentleman, who always loved to make people laugh. Even though he had a quiet personality, he loved to be around people and strike up a conversation. He also enjoyed time outdoors hunting, fishing, and working in his woodshop. His friends and family say, “Jim could fix or build anything”.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Norma McKelvey of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Keith and Darla McKelvey of New Lebanon, Ohio; Kurt McKelvey of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law; Connie and Steve Coker of Fouke, Arkansas; one brother, Glenn McKelvey of Heyworth, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 A. M. Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas with Rev. Bryan McKelvey and Rev. Jason McKelvey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.
