Wynona moved to Longview as a young girl, attending local schools and graduating from Pine Tree High School. She attended business school and was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone for eight years. In 1967, she began working for LeTourneau University as circulation/reference librarian and retired in 1992.

Wynona was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to all.

Wynona was preceded in death by her first husband, Captain Robert Swanzy; sisters, Winifred O. Ross, Wilbur "Dean" Taunton, Billie Christian and Alice Wood; brothers, Claiborn and Fred Kirl; and parents, Fred Louis Kirl and Mary Ollie Kirl Conley.
