Sugarcreek - Emma J Miller, 96, 2578 State Route 39, Sugarcreek, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, in her son's home at 2270 County Road 70, Sugarcreek, after a brief illness.

Born Dec. 23, 1911, in Napanee, Ind, she was a daughter of the late Jacob M and Mattie E (Miller) Hochstetler. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Her husband, Mose J B Miller, whom she married Feb 7, 1935, preceded her in death on Nov 6, 1979.

Surviving are her eight children, Jacob (Emma Mae) Miller of Berlin, Aden (Mattie) Miller of Springboro, Pa, Mary (Dennis) Weaver of Fredericksburg, Esther (Ben) Troyer of Crab Orchard, Ky, Lydia Ann (Ervin) Weaver Jr of Fredericksburg, Lovina (Henry) Schrock of Sugarcreek, Mahlon (Mary) Miller of Dundee and Roy (Esther) Miller of Sugarcreek; 40 grandchildren; 120 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Amanda Yoder of Pratts, Va.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, a great-grandchild, five brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16, at 9 am in the Vernon M Hershberger residence at 2383 County Road 70, Sugarcreek. Bishop Andy A Yoder will officiate and burial will follow in Schmucker Cemetery in Clark Township, Holmes County.

Friends may call anytime at the Roy Miller residence, 2270 County Road 70, Sugarcreek. Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling the arrangements.
