Fred Christy, the sixteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Christy of Davenport, swallowed five cents worth of the corrosive sublimate last Saturday afternoon with suicidal intent and, although medical aid was summoned at once, died Monday afternoon at four o'clock.
The funeral services were held Tuesday in the Christian Church at Davenport, Rev. F. H. Groon officiating, and the remains were interred in the Davenport cemetery. A large crowd at the funeral services and a long procession to the grave attested the sympathy of the community for the bereaved parents.
