He and Barbara Stroud were married March 10, 1952, in Ryan, Okla. He was a truck driver for many years and retired after 21 years as a firefighter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waurika.
Survivors include one son, Lester Brantley of Gadsden, Ala.; three daughters, Loretta Richardson of Waurika, June Wikel of Addington, Okla., and Beverly Bailey of Duncan, Okla.; one sister, Genita Holcomb of Comanche, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josie and Pless Brantley; three brothers, Gardner, Paul, and Russell; and one great-grandson, Jacob Ashbrook.
Funeral services for Mr. Brantley were at 10 a.m. Wed., Sept. 7, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, with Audie Dorrough officiating. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
