Rowena Ellalee Snyder Lutener was born to Charles Henry Snyder and Carrie Louisa Crapo Snyder. In her early twenties, she ran for and was elected as the county clerk for Dolores County in Colorado. It was there at the Rico, Colorado courthouse where she worked, that she met Oral Lutener who was her deputy county clerk. They married on December 17, 1938. When Oral started working for the Civil Service, they moved to El Paso, Texas. There Rowena and Oral had their two daughters - Carol Margaret born in 1944 and Marilyn Rowena born in 1945. Rowena was a homemaker until 1955 when she became a realtor for a few years. She was one of the top salespersons in El Paso during that time period. She was a very patient, loving and exceptionally positive person. She died unexpectedly of a heart attack on June 2, 1993 at the age of 79. Her namesake Ellalee Marie Bullock (great granddaughter) was born on May 11, 2005.
