William was easy going and always made the girls his age smile. He was a truckdriver by trade but in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, writing his own songs, and he loved his cats. William went from being a rough around the edges good ole boy to a good ole boy with a gentle spirit who read his Bible every day. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his children, Billie Jean, Wendy, William Bentley Jr. (Penny) of Truman, Curtis Gene Bentley (Gina) of Truman, David W. Bentley (Kelly) of Truman; grandchildren, Aaron Bentley, Michael Bentley, Linda Bentley, Tisha Bentley, Johnathan Bentley, Tasha Bentley, and Wesley Bentley.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Vida Bentley; a daughter, Debbie Hall; three sisters, and 6 brothers.
Visitation is 11am Wednesday, October 14 at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow at Noon in the chapel. Interment is in Browns Chapel Cemetery in Union Hill.
