Born in Chicago on June 19, 1925, he came to Haines City from Country Club Hills, Ill., in 1998. He was a railroad conductor for the Illinois Central Railroad. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Illinois.
Mr. Bridges is survived by his wife, Cynthia Bridges; sons, Luke Bridges, Alabama, Michael Bridges, James Bridges, Douglas Bridges, Brian Bridges, Donald Bridges, all of Illinois, Jeffrey Bridges, Bruce Bridges, both of Indiana; daughters, Barbara Ward, Mary Valdarchi, Cindy Schmelzer, all of Illionis; brother, Hugh Bridges, Illinois; sisters, Marie Zajaczek, Cathryn Hartigan, both of Illinois; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 this morning at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1265 Robinson Drive, Haines City. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens in Oak Lawn, Ill.
