Grace Victoria Carter Cole, age 89, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Cole was born on March 7, 1931 in Buncombe Co., to the late David Carter and Florence Tooten Carter. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for many years at Mission St. Joseph’s Hospital and then at Freck Radio and Supply as a secretary before she retired.
Grace was a wonderful wife and mother. She adored her family and was lovingly devoted to them. She loved her church and her church family, too. She enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband Thomas; three brothers, Arthur, Carveth and Burnice Carter; a sister, Miriam Carter; and a granddaughter, Tiffany Lusk. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sandra Cole and her husband Tim, of Asheville; two granddaughters, Crystal Dotson and her husband Eric of Black Mountain, NC and April Cole of Asheville; four great-grandchildren, William Burgess of Asheville, Austin Roberts of Fairview, and Eli and Emmett Dotson, both of Black Mountain; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A drive by visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 6pm to 6:30pm, at Bethel United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at the church with Reverend Terry Duckworth officiating.
