Holmes, Dennis John Chenango Bridge, NY 4/1/1951 - 12/27/2015 Passed away peacefully surrounded his family and is no longer in pain. Predeceased by parents, Douglas and Jane (Nieman) Holmes. Survived by daughters, Marcie Cabrera (Luis) of Virginia; Joanna Barton (Shane) of Binghamton; and Jordan Holmes of North Carolina. He was a loving grandfather to Liam Barton, who will always be his Papa; survived by mother of his children and friend, Jerrye Holmes of North Carolina; brother to Robert Holmes (Donna) of Binghamton and Richard Holmes of Vermont; many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Chenango Valley grad from 1969, earned two degrees at Broome CC. He was a telecommunications technician for many years. He was a very passionate guitarist and drummer, including sitting in with the Beach Boys, and member of several local bands. He was an off ice official for the AHL Binghamton Whalers and Rangers. The family would like to thank all caregivers and loving friends through the last years of his journey. A Memorial Mass will be held 11am Thursday December 31st, 2015 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 728 River Rd, Chenango Bridge. Friends may call at the church from 10am until the time of service.
