Dee Lynn Miller Himes was born in Denver, Colorado, March 21, 1970. She was adopted by her grandparents, Carrie Marie Richardson and Everett Leslie Miller.
Dee came to Austin, Texas, in 2012. Shortly after arriving she went to work for John and Brenda DeSimone at the Happy Cooks Cafeteria in the Stephen F. Austin building in downtown Austin. She was with them for over 5 years. They found her to be very reliable, honest, caring, and a great cook and manager. She was very lovable to meet and a loyal friend. They counted on her for many things and she always delivered the best she could. She was the best employee they ever had. The DeSimones loved Dee very much and she will be always in their hearts.
She was diagnosed with ALS in 2019 in Austin, Texas. The Dell Seton hospital on Red River took very good care of Dee while she was there. They did many things to help her communicate with others. The staff worked many hours to arrange for the expensive trip from Texas back to Wyoming, so that Dee could be near her children at the end of her life. The doctors, nurses, social services and staff went beyond their call of duty to help her. The said she was very sweet and thought she was special.
Shortly after arriving back, Dee passed October 5, 2020, in Casper, Natona, Wyoming.
