Daughter of Samuel Montagu (q.v.). In her youth founded night classes for working girls, with her sister Marian (q.v.). Later became founder of National Organisation of Girls' Clubs and president of English Youth Club Movement. She also founded the Liberal Synagogue Movement and became the first Jewish woman to serve as a lay minister (1918).
